Project Manager Mechatronics Products

Merit Automotive US LLC has an opening for a Project Manager – Mechatronic Products at 1000 N. Opdyke Road, Suite K, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. 40 hrs/wk; 9am - 5pm; M - F.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

Lead the design, development, and deliverables of multiple Mechatronic product families such as: Steering Control Column Modules (SCCM’s), Switch Bank Multiplexers, Steering Wheel Switches (SWS) & Light Control modules, among others; act as the primary customer contact of multiple automotive OEM’s, leading all technical communication and negotiations; interpret technical information, conveying, and ensuring Merit’s technical teams clearly understand customer requirements; follow Merit’s PDP (Project Development Process) for new product launches and/or current product changes; deploy products into assembly line and collaborate with manufacturing sites for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); plan and execute all activities in accordance with the milestones defined by the customer; ensure the project provides products within spec, budget, time, cost, scope, quality, risk, and benefit boundaries; create detailed technical project plans and timelines in collaboration with: Mechanical (ME) Engineers, Electrical (EE) Engineers, Software (SW) Engineers, Systems (SYS) Engineers, and Independent Testing and Verification (IT&V) Engineers; create project plans and timelines for manufacturing: injection molding, Surface Mount Technology, final assembly, and software programming & EOL testers; identify and resolve any technical problems and risks relating to the product, process, and quality systems; improve the company’s profitability and collaborate to reach technical cost reduction goals; provide leadership through technical coaching, mentoring and development of cross functional teams; and prepare, maintain, and track project targets and results on the project scorecard. Travel at least 6 times a year to Mexico and/or Poland.

We have some expectations:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 24 months of experience Engineering, Project Lead, and/or Project Management positions. Experience must include Design process of automotive mechatronic devices such as: Steering Control Column Modules (SCCM’s), Light Control modules, Switch Banks Multiplexers, Control Systems and sensors; lead multi-discipline teams including engineering, operations, quality, and manufacturing to ensure product development within time, quality, and budget; APQP and Product Development Process (PDP); requirement’s analysis and use of Configuration Management Tools or Traceability Systems such as Code Beamer for project requirement traceability; automotive architecture and diagnostic tools such as: AutoSAR, CAN/LIN/UDS, and Vector CANalyzer tools; product launch at assembly sites and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); Agile methodology tools such Jira, Trello, Kan Ban, GIT among others to plan, track and monitor the project teams’ performance; automotive quality vehicle standards including: QMS, IATF 16949:2016, and ASPICE; maintaining technical project lifecycle files in PLM, and Control Change Management tools such as Team Center; and scheduling and Time planning tools such as MS project.
